Zebra Markings

In this exploration on Beechwood I created this interesting design full of repeated lines and markings similar to that of a zebra.
Playing with the functionality of my burning tips to make a variety of marks by using them like a brand or a stamp on wood. I created my own brass nib tips for some of the markings in the piece using a dremel. Many of the markings and processes I have used in later pieces to add interest, texture and taction of the wood burning. 
I love how this primitive Mark making lends itself to adding information in shadows and building interesting information to both the foreground and the background.
